Quota movement: CU students boycott classes
Students of Chittagong University boycotted all classes and examinations today, protesting yesterday's attack on members of quota reform movement at Sholosohor in Chittagong.
Convener of Chittagong unit of Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council Anwar Hossain said, "expressing solidarity with the central committee, a group of students took position in the city's Sholosohor area on Saturday".
At one stage, a faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) launched an attack on them, leaving two of the protesters injured, he alleged.
The injured-Tofail Ahmed and Arju Mia, co-convener of the council, were given first aid.
Earlier on Saturday, at least six leaders of the central committee of the council were injured in an attack by some alleged BCL activists in Dhaka University campus.
Protesting the attack, the students' council called for an indefinite boycott of classes and examinations in all universities and colleges across the country from today.
