‘Both Neymar and Mbappe want to stay at PSG’
Luis Fernandez, the sporting director at Paris Saint-Germain said that both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are willing to stay at the French club despite being speculated to make a big money move to the European giants Real Madrid.
Neymar has “decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain”, according to Fernandez, while Kylian Mbappe is also set to shun interest from Real Madrid.
Both PSG stars have been heavily linked with Real Madrid with the European giants searching for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently left Real Madrid and joined Italian Champions Juventus for a reported fee of 112 million euros.
However, in a recently released club statement Real Madrid said that they have no intentions to make bids for Neymar.
Neymar, who suffered from injury in his debut season at PSG has also had a disappointing World Cup 2018 campaign with his national team Brazil as the Selecao could not make it further than the quarter-final in Russia.
PSG official Fernandez is however convinced that the club’s star man will be staying with them in next season as he confirmed to Radio Marca that the 26-year old has decided to stay put.
“Neymar has decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
“He wants to succeed, after not achieving much at the World Cup. I think he wants to win titles with PSG.”
Fernandez also talked about another of PSG’s prized asset, the 19-year old sensation Mbappe, who helped France lift the World Cup after 20 years and was awarded the FIFA Young Player for his performance in the tournament after scoring 4 goals for Les Blues in their road to the ultimate glory in Russia.
“He will also stay,’ Fernandez added on Mbappe.
“He has said it, 100 per cent. He wants to win the Champions League with PSG.
“[FFP] does not worry me. The important thing is that both Neymar and Mbappe want to stay at PSG.” concluded Fernandez.
