Jatiya Oikyafront to hold first rally in Sylhet Oct 23
Newly formed Jatiya Oikyafront will start its programmes by holding a rally in Sylhet city on October 23 to garner public support in favour of its 7-point demand for holding a credible parliamentary election.
Oikyafront leader and JSD president ASM Abdur Rab announced the programme after the first meeting of the opposition alliance at his Uttara residence today.
He said they will go to Sylhet on October 23 and offer fateha at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Shah Paran (RA), and then hold a grand rally in the city.
Rab also said after Sylhet, they will gradually hold public rallies in all other divisional cities, including Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur.
“We want to hold peaceful rallies and we hope that the government or administration will extend their cooperation,” Rob hoped.
He also said they took the decision of forming liaison committee to take forward the activites of Jatiya Oikyafront. He, however, did not disclose the names of the members of the liaison committee.
The alliance will seat again tomorrow to finalise the next course of action.
