Mr Bangladesh to hit theatres soon

The makers of the upcoming action thriller Mr Bangladesh took a huge risk as they chose to tackle the very sensitive issue of terrorism and violence.

Fortunately for the audience, the film finally got the uncut censor certificate on October 18, which cleared its way for a full theatrical release. "I was quite relieved when we got the news," says Khijir Hayat Khan, the producer and lead actor in the film. The actor had told The Daily Star that his passion for the theme of Mr Bangladesh stems from the fact that he had lost a very close friend, Ishrat Akhond, to the tragic Holey Artisan attack in 2016. Shanarei Devi is the film's female lead, alongside Tiger Robi, Shahriar Sajib, Shamim Hasan Sarker and others who play minor roles. The film is directed by Abu Akhter Ul Iman.
