Narayanganj SP withdrawn

The Election Commission has withdrawn Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman following a demand of the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

The commission took the decision this evening based on “specific allegations” against him, said EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed.

The 20-party alliance last week went to the Election Commission and demanded Anisur to be withdrawn as his wife is MP of Awami League in reserved seat.

Based on the allegation and demand by the 20-party alliance, the EC took the decision, EC Secretary added.
