Arms trader held with pistol in Benapole
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an arms trader along with a foreign-made pistol from Sadipur border area in Benapole this morning.
The arrestee was identified as Abdus Salam, 22, son of Mohammad Ali of the Village.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 battalion conducted a drive in the area around 9.00 am and made the arrests, Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of 49 Border Guard Battalion, said.
Salam was an arms trader, the BGB CO added.
BGB handed him over to Benapole Port Police Station along with the pistol. A case was also filed in this connection.
