CU suspends 6 students for ‘taking weed’ on campus
Chittagong University (CU) authorities today claimed to have suspended six students for reportedly taking weed in a dormitory on the campus.
CU Vice-Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury took the decision with his executive power this afternoon following the recommendation of university's Board of Residence Health and Disciplinary Committee, confirmed assistant proctor of the university Niaz Morshed Ripan.
The six students were caught red-handed by the university authority while they were “taking hemp at an abandoned room of Alaol Hall”. CU authority handed them over to Hathazari Police Station, the assistant proctor said.
CU authority will show zero tolerance against drug usage and drug peddlers, the assistant proctor also said.
