Wall Décor - The Flat Screen Television

Are you thinking of buying a television? Or perhaps you have a television but are having a hard time incorporating it into your living space? So how are you going to work the sleek beauty of a flat screen television into the décor of your home?  We've got some tips for you.

PLAN FOR SPACE
A flat screen can be viewed from many angles. While this is a significant advantage, it can also prove to be a disadvantage when arranging furniture. Stand back and view the television from all angles to see which furniture is obstructing the view. Another trick is to stand at your television and look at the room from there to assess what is obstructing the view and space.

TO STAND OUT OR BLEND IN?
A television can be blended in to your flawless décor or made the focal point of your room. To highlight your television, place it on an accent wall(such as one tiled with slabs of granite or marble) or on a sleek and otherwise empty piece of furniture. If you are more of a creative type, you can mount your television on a large art easel (make sure the easel and the television are both firmly fixed). If you wish to blend in your television, you can place it on a black wall with which it can merge seamlessly or place it on a gallery wall with an array of paintings so that the television looks like a piece of art itself. If you wish to conceal your television completely when not viewing it, you can incorporate it into a large, closed bookshelf or hide it behind a pull-down shade or a sliding panel.

VIEWING HEIGHT
For larger rooms, it is suggested that the television be wall-mounted as there is a large viewing range. While, smaller and narrower places will benefit from a lower, stand-mounted console.

SIZE
This is probably the most important thing. It is essential to remember that the smaller the room, the smaller the television that is needed. Do not give in to the urge to buy a large television if you do not have the space to accommodate it. Often people end up buying a television that is too large, which is not only visually unattractive but also causes the viewers headaches due to lack of viewing distance.
