New time for train announced after schedule collapses
Bangladesh Railway has rescheduled for today the departure time of several trains from Dhaka’s Kamalapur Railway Station amid immense sufferings of holidaymakers due to schedule collapse ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The home-goers who are waiting at the station for hours do not know when their trains will leave Dhaka and reach their destinations.
Since morning, only one train -- Panchagarh-bound Ekata Express -- has left the station around 11:55am, two hours late than the scheduled time, our staff correspondent reports from Kamalapu rstation.
Here are the new schedules according to a noticeissued by the railway authorities:
Under the fresh schedule, Sundarbans Express has left Kamalapur Railway Station around 2:20pm instead of 6:20 am today.
Dhumketu Expresswill leave Dhaka around 5:30pm instead of 6:00am while Nilsagar Express around 6:10pm instead of 8:00am.
Rangpur Express and Lalmonirhat Eid Special train will leave the station around 10:35pm and 11:15pm, which were scheduled for 9:00am and 9:15am respectively.
Silk City Express has been rescheduled for 11:40pm instead of 2:40pm today.
Apart from these, western-bound several trains also might be around one hour late than their scheduled time of departure, the notice added.
