6-yr old girl raped in Jashore

A six-year-old girl was raped in Chowgachha upazila of Jashore today allegedly by a youth of the same village, police said.

The incident took place in Debaloy village in the upazila around 3:00pm, our Jhenidah correspondent reports quoting Saiful Islam Shohag, a sub-inspector of Chowgachha Police Station.

One Shib Roy, 19, of the same village allegedly raped the girl, the police official said quoting the victim’s mother.

The victim was rushed to Chowgachha Health Complex and provided primary treatment there.

Later, she was shifted to Jashore 250-bed Hospital as there was excessive bleeding, said Munjurul Islam, duty doctor at the emergency unit of Chowgachha Health Complex.

The police are trying to detain the accused, SI Shohag said.   

Filing of a case in this connection was underway, he added.
