U-15s beaten on penalties in SAFF final
India claimed SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship, defeating Bangladesh 5-3 on penalties at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu today.
Bangladesh had won the inaugural edition, beating India 1-0 in the final two years ago while India had their revenge last year, beating their neighbours by the same margin at the Changlimithang Stadium.
The match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes with the girls giving a good account of themselves and the match went straight to penalties after full time. India converted all of their five penalties while Bangladesh missed their first one as the match ended 5-3 in favour of India.
