Fire broke out at a readymade garment factory in Konabari area of Gazipur city this afternoon.

The blaze erupted at a factory of ‘Islam Garments Limited’ at the sixth floor of a 10-storey building around 2:15pm, said Mamnur Rashid, deputy director of Gazipur Fire Service Station.

On information, eight fire-fighting units from Gazipur city, Savar EPZ and Kaliakoir fire service stations rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the fire, our Gazipur correspondent reports.

However, the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
