India appreciates Bangladesh’s view of Jammu-Kashmir being its ‘internal issue’
India today said Bangladesh's "consistent" stand has been that Jammu and Kashmir and developments there "are internal to India."
"As regards to Jammu and Kashmir, you will appreciate their (Bangladesh's) consistent stand that Jammu and Kashmir and developments in Jammu and Kashmir are internal to India and this is the stand they have always taken," spokesman of India's External Affairs Ministry Anurag Srivastava said, reports our New Delhi correspondent.

Srivastava's remarks came in response to a question by two Indian journalists at a virtual media briefing seeking India's comments on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan apparently raising the Kashmir issue during a telephonic conversation with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina yesterday.
He said India's relations with Bangladesh are "time-tested and historic."
He said this year marks the celebration of Sheikh Mujib's birth centenary and both the countries are taking a lot of steps to strengthen their partnership.
"We have also stood with Bangladesh and our relations are forged by history and by our common sacrifices," Srivastava said.
As the first-ever container cargo from Kolkata via Chattogram port reached Agartala this morning, Srivastava termed the event as "historic".
In a read-out on the container ship reaching Agartala via Bangladesh under the bilateral transit deal signed during Hasina's official visit to India in October, 2017, Srivastava said this would give a boost to maritime and economic partnership between the two countries.
He said the transit facility would reduce the distance and time for transportation of goods for India, particularly to its northeastern states, and also enhance the business services and revenue generation in Bangladesh.
This would also help the logistical sector of Bangladesh, he added.
The cargo transported by the container ship from Kolkata to Chittagong reached Agartala this morning when it was received by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
