‘Golden Monir’ denied bail in narcotics case

A Dhaka court today rejected a bail petition of Monir Hossain, known as "Golden Monir", in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mondol passed the order after Monir's lawyer filed a petition seeking bail in the case.

On November 21, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Monir from his Merul Badda residence in Dhaka on charges of possessing illegal firearms, foreign currencies and drugs.
Later, three cases were filed with Badda Police Station under the Arms, Special Power and Narcotics Control acts.
