Nearly 11,000 Covid cases reported in 24 hours, 14 dead

At least 10,906 new infections were recorded and 14 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 31.29 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.91 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,223 and the mortality rate stands at 1.67 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 16,85,136, added the release.

A total of 34,854 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 782 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,56,861 and the recovery rate at 92.39 percent.

Of the 14 deceased, six were male and eight female and they were aged between 31-90 years old, added the release.
