In response to the huge surge in the demand for Indian visas during the holy month of Ramadan, the Indian High Commission has taken additional steps to facilitate visa applicants.

The special provisions include increasing working hours from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm -- visa application deposit time from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and visa delivery time (passport collection for applicants) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In a statement today, the Indian High Commission also said it would scale up display monitors and signage at the IVAC centre for guiding applicants and increase manpower to guide applicants and manage their orderly movement to the respective counters.

The high commission also deployed additional staff at visa application counters to ensure quick processing and dedicated floor managers to coordinate processing and delivery.

It also arranged a special facility for senior citizens and war veterans, (Muktijoddhas).

Besides, IVAC centres will additionally remain open on April 17, 2022 (Sunday), which is otherwise a public holiday.

"Indian visa application seekers may kindly note the above special provisions and visit IVACs accordingly for ensuring a smooth application process," the high commission said.
