‘Hawa releasing in Kolkata on Victory Day feels surreal’
After creating waves in the country, "Hawa" is all set to release in Kolkata tomorrow. On the occasion of the release, Chanchal Chowdhury flew to Kolkata today to attend the premiere show. The film director, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, and actress Nazifa Tushi reached Kolkata a few days ago.
Due to the illness of his father, Chanchal was unable to attend the press conference of "Hawa" in Kolkata. However, he still wants to share the happiness of "Hawa", with the audience of Kolkata.
"It's great news that Hawa is releasing to Kolkata. I wish I could attend the press conference there and discuss the film with the journalists from Kolkata. However, my father got very sick and I had to admit him to the hospital," Chanchal told The Daily Star.
Chanchal requested everyone to pray for the recovery of his father.
"Hawa" will be officially released in Kolkata and West Bengal on December 16, then across the rest of India from December 30 onwards.
"As December 16 is our victory day, it feels surreal that Hawa is releasing on this auspicious day. I hope Bangladeshi films will continue to mesmerise the audience abroad like this in the near future," said Chanchal.
He also hopes that the way people watched "Hawa" in Nandan, they will come to watch the film in the theatres with the same enthusiasm.
Chanchal is busy with the promotion of "Karagar 2" in Kolkata which is awaiting its release on December 22. Apart from this, he is now in talks for a biopic portraying eminent Indian director Mrinal Sen.
