Shakib misses hundred but Hridoy stays on course
Shakib Al Hasan missed his tenth hundred by seven runs but debutant Towhid Hridoy is on course to make it happen in the first ODI of the three-match series against Ireland at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Towhid was batting on 79 while Mushfiqur Rahim was batting on 34 as Bangladesh reached 274 for 4 in 43.3 overs.
Earlier, Hridoy brought up his maiden ODI fifty by hitting five fours in 55 balls.
He became the third player in Bangladesh's ODI history to achieve the feat after Farhad Reza and Nasir Hossain scored fifties on debut against Zimbabwe.
