BNP and their allied political parties, some professionals, journalists, and a section of civil society have indulged in this propaganda."
"Their main objective is to mislead the young generation by distorting the history of the liberation war and to hide the incredible achievements of independent Bangladesh in almost all aspects of national life," they added.
In the statement, it was also said that ahead of the upcoming national election, the activity of these circles has increased tremendously.
"Recently, the government has taken legal action as the news published in a national daily of the country mocked and questioned the independence of Bangladesh. We express our determination to unitedly resist lies, propaganda, and attacks against our great liberation war and independence," the statement reads.
These 15 cultural federations expect a responsible role of the media and condemn the undue interference of foreigners in the internal affairs of Bangladesh under any pretext.
