'Pett Kata Shaw' co-writer Aftab Ahmad no more
Writer, poet and former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Aftab Ahmad passed away last night. The news was confirmed by Nuhash Humayun.
Nuhash posted the news of Ahmad's passing, on his Facebook profile. According to Nuhash, Aftab Ahmad had suffered multiple strokes four months ago and had been under treatment since. Prior to his passing, he had lost his voice and motor skills.
Aftab Ahmad had been married to Gultekin Khan for over four years. He was also a writer, having worked with Nuhash on his first project as a lyricist and then as a co-writer on his widely acclaimed web-series, "Pett Kata Shaw".
Nuhash wrote in his post, "He's family to me, a dear friend as well as a creative collaborator."
"I have filled many hospital forms these last few months, signing my name along with 'Relationship: Son' and it came straight from my heart," he added on a heartfelt note.
Continuing his post, Nuhashh wrote, "He was considered a poet and a family man, by so many in his personal and professional life. One of his UNDP colleagues described him as: 'Honest, erudite, quick witted and Shakespearean, with a touch of Bengali romanticism both in his poetry and in his life'."
Nuhash then asked everyone to keep the writer in their prayers and to send love to his family members and acquaintances.
