Dengue menace: City corporations fine 44 establishments Tk 11.73 lakh
The two Dhaka city corporations today fined 44 established owners of the month-long anti-dengue drive.
During the drive, DNCC and DSCC collected a total of Tk 11.73 lakh in fines from 31 cases where mosquito larvae were found in various areas under the city corporations.
DNCC conducted mobile court drives in Uttara, Monipur, Agargaon 60 feet and other areas and collected Tk 8.80 lakh as fines in total under 13 cases. "The campaign will continue throughout the month of July, aiming to create a dengue-free environment for all residents in Dhaka," said DNCC spokesperson Mokbul Hossain.
"DNCC has started the drive from July 8 and they collect a total 98.45 lakh takas under 133 cases," he added.
Meanwhile, DSCC conducted drives in six different areas and fined 18 establishment building owners Tk 2.93 under 18 cases, said DSCC spokesperson Abu Nasher.
He said special drives were conducted at 88 educational institutions in the area under the DSCC areas.
"Special combing operations have been conducted at 88 educational institutions and 20 other establishments and places, including mosques and social centres," he added.
