PSG considering filing complaint to FIFA against Real over Mbappe: report

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain are considering filing an official complaint to FIFA against Real Madrid over Kylian Mbappe. 

Mbappe's current contract with the Ligue 1 champions runs out next year and he has already refused to extend it. With the July 31 deadline for triggering the one-year extension passing, it is no longer an option at all.

With Mbappe refusing to sign a new deal, but also rejecting any approaches to leave on a transfer this summer, PSG are convinced that he has already reached agreement terms with Real Madrid to join them for free next summer.

FIFA prohibits clubs from talking to players and agreeing on deals more than six months in advance of the expiry of a player's contract.

According to The Telegraph, PSG are considering filing that complaint to FIFA. Whether they have grounds to do so, or whether the intention is to apply pressure on Mbappe and Los Blancos to sit down at the negotiation table remains to be seen. 

FIFA has in the past handed out transfer bans for incompetent behaviour.

There are reports that Mbappe may receive a significant signing-on fee of over £138 million should he choose to sign with Real Madrid as a free agent the following summer.

Importantly, if Madrid and Mbappe had already reached an agreement, it would be in violation of FIFA regulations.

Given that Mbappe declined to make a phone call to Saudi club Al-Hilal after they had a world-record £259 million proposal accepted by the French champions, PSG are apparently even more persuaded that something is amiss with the Spanish club.
