‘Swastika is doing my film, male lead is yet to be finalised’
Entire social media was stirred with the news that Chanchal Chowdhury and Swastika Mukherjee is pairing up for a film. In an interview with Indian media outlet, Anandabazar, Swastika mentioned about working with Chanchal in Himu Akram's debut directorial silver screen project, "Altabanu Kokhono Jochhona Dekheni". She also shared her excitement about this project, which will be produced by Bengal Multimedia.
This information circulated all over the media. However, Chanchal declined about being a part of this venture to the media.
The Daily Star reached out to the director Himu to know the real story behind all these confusions. "When we sent the script to her, Swastika was very excited and contacted us that she is interested to work in this project. Thus, we signed an agreement with her three months ago," shared the director. It is to be mentioned that Swastika made her debut in Dhallywood with FI Manik's directorial project "Shobar Upore Tumi" in 2009, sharing the screen with Shakib Khan.
Himu clarified that the male lead has not been finalised yet. "We have contacted Chanchal Chowdhury, but he hasn't confirmed anything yet. The title might imply that it is a female lead-centric plot, however, the male lead bears equal significance. He would have to play the character in three different avatars."
The director also revealed that the title of the film, "Altabanu Kokhono Jochhona Dekheni", will also be changed.
Amidst the hype, we asked the director who would be sharing the screen with the "Shrimati" actress? "It will take a while to confirm," he replied.
Swastika also informed the Indian media that the shooting will begin from November. Himu is still unsure about this information. "We are still working on the script, and until we complete the pre-production phase, we cannot begin the shoot," he concluded.
Himu Akram wrote the story of the film, and it will be scripted by eminent author Mohammad Nazimuddin, "Shurongo" famed writer Nazim Ud Daula. One Indian writer is also involved in writing the script.
