Navitas Bangladesh hosts special appreciation dinner for partners and school counsellors

Navitas Bangladesh hosted a special appreciation dinner on December 2  at Crowne Plaza Dhaka to honour the invaluable contributions of its recruitment partners for Destination Canada and school counsellors from leading educational institutions. The event celebrated the growing collaboration between Canada and Bangladesh in the education sector and highlighted the continued importance of international student exchanges.
The distinguished gathering was graced by special guests Debra Boyce, Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner, and Quazi Gulam Farhad, Trade Commissioner at the High Commission of Canada in Bangladesh. The speakers highlighted the strengthening ties between the two countries in education, with a particular emphasis on the role of educational institutions and partner agents in facilitating student mobility to Canada.

Established in 1994, Navitas is a global higher education organisation that partners with universities all around the world. The company has established strong partnerships with five renowned Canadian institutions: FIC in British Columbia, ICM in Winnipeg, UICC in Alberta, WLIC, and TMUIC in Toronto.

Jahir Uddin, Regional Director of Navitas Bangladesh, opened the evening by welcoming the guests and expressing heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering support in transforming lives through education. He acknowledged the essential role that partner agents and school counsellors play in guiding students toward successful academic futures. 

The event served as an important platform for fostering collaboration and strengthening relationships with local educational partners. In her keynote address, Debra Boyce emphasised the significance of international education exchanges and the challenges students face in pursuing opportunities abroad. Despite these challenges, she highlighted that Canada remains one of the top destinations for international education. She also acknowledged that students, whom she referred to as "bridges" between nations, play a critical role in fostering international relations.

The evening offered a unique opportunity for networking and discussions on future opportunities to further strengthen educational ties between Bangladesh and Canada. It also set the stage for continued growth in student recruitment and educational partnerships, ensuring that the bilateral relationship between the two nations in the field of education will continue to thrive in the years ahead.
