Azmeri Haque Badhan and Tasnia Farin have jointly claimed the Best Actress award in the Popular category at the prestigious "Blender's Choice The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2023" tonight. The accolade highlights their outstanding performances in two gripping productions-- Badhan for her portrayal of a resilient drug dealer in the Chorki original web-series "Guti", directed by Shankha Dasgupta, and Farin for her role in the Deepto Play original film "Nikosh", directed by Rubel Hasan.

Both actresses were also nominated in the Critics' Choice section of the same category, further emphasising their extraordinary contributions to the industry. "Guti" marked a significant milestone in Badhon's career as she embodied the struggles of a woman navigating the perilous world of drug dealing while yearning for a better life, further drowning in the dark world. Meanwhile, Farin's role in "Nikosh" was equally powerful, portraying a courageous woman determined to combat human trafficking in her quest to rescue her sister from a sinister racket.

The competition in this category was nothing short of fierce, with a stellar lineup of nominees including Rafiath Rashid Mithila for her role in "Myself Allen Swapan", Tama Mirza for her standout performance in "Friday", and Shahnaz Sumi for her compelling portrayal in "Mobaroknama".
