Chabial’s official page hacked
As Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's directorial film "840" premiered in theatres today, its production company Chabial's official Facebook page was hacked.
Addressing the issue on social media, Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki wrote, "Chabial's page has just been hacked. The team is working to regain access. I request everyone to take note of this incident."
He further remarked, "To my audience, who have always supported my filmmaking journey, I believe you know why this is happening and who might be behind it."
Farooki also highlighted the challenges he faced in promoting "840", saying, "In my current role, I haven't been able to dedicate time to the film's promotion. For example, just last night, I was presiding over a meeting related to my ministry work. In a normal year, I would have been fully engaged in promoting my film."
He credited Nusrat Imrose Tisha, the producer of "840", and the rest of the team for managing the promotional efforts.
Farooki alleged that "malicious efforts" by certain individuals or groups were behind the disruption.
He concluded his post with an appeal to his audience, stating, "To everyone who loved '420', please go out and watch '840' aka 'Democracy Pvt Ltd'. If you enjoy the film, since I am unable to promote it properly, become its ambassador. Let me continue my public work, to which I am committed 200%!"
The film "840" boasts a star-studded cast, including Nasir Uddin Khan, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Bijori Barkatullah, Marzuk Russell, Zayed Khan, Nader Chowdhury, and Zakia Bari Mamo, among others.
