The birth centenary of eminent novelist Rashid Karim was celebrated on January 4 at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Dhaka. 

The event, organized by Islami Pathagar, Khilgaon, brought together distinguished guests, family members, and literary enthusiasts to honor the legacy of the renowned writer.  

Mofidul Haque attended as the chief guest, while Hamim Kamrul Haque and Altaf Shahnewaz participated as special guests. The session was chaired by Anisul Islam.  

Nabila Murshed, daughter of Rashid Karim, joined the event virtually, and her recorded greetings were played at the beginning of the program. A written tribute by senior litterateur Hasnat Abdul Hye was also read out, highlighting Rashid Karim's contributions to Bengali literature.  

A special session inaugurated the public reading of "Rashid Karim Omnibus", a collection of selected novels, stories, and other writings by the novelist.  

The family members of Rashid Karim were present at the event, and a commemorative plaque was presented to Abu Kamal, niece of the celebrated author, as a token of remembrance for the occasion.
