Kachua, Mongla win Bagerhat district finals

The much-anticipated U-17 National Gold Cup Football Tournament concluded in grand fashion at the Bagerhat Stadium on Friday, showcasing the best of young footballing talent in the region. 

In the girls' final, Kachua Upazila faced Mongla Upazila in a tightly contested match. With neither team managing to secure a win in regular time, the game was forced into a penalty shootout. Kachua held their nerve and emerged victorious, defeating Mongla 4-2 in the tiebreaker, securing the championship title in the girls' category. 

Meanwhile, in the boys' division, Bagerhat Sadar Upazila dominated the final, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Rampal Upazila. Their solid performance throughout the tournament culminated in a well-deserved championship title. 

Following the final matches, a prize-giving ceremony was held, graced by distinguished guests. The chief guest of the event, Md. Iqbal Hossain, additional secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, handed over trophies to the winning teams. The event was presided over by Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan.
