‘March for Gaza’ rally at Suhrawardy Udyan today

Activists demanding an end to Israeli atrocities in Palestine will gather at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka today for a rally after marching from five different points.
Several political and professional organisations, including the National Citizen Party (NCP), Jamaat-e-Islami, Hefazat-e-Islam and AB Party, will join the "March for Gaza", which had earlier been scheduled to start from Shahbagh and end at Manik Mia Avenue.
A platform called Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh has created the March for Gaza event on Facebook. As of 6:00pm yesterday, 73,000 people showed interest and 6,300 said they would attend.
As per the latest decision, the rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan will start at 3:00pm, according to a report published by the Prothom Alo.
Sheikh Fazlul Karim Maruf, media coordinator of the Movement, said the march from five points would start at 2:00pm. The points are Banglamotor, Kakrail, Zero Point, Bakshibazar and Nilkhet intersection.
The changes were brought to the programme considering the movement of guests coming to the investment summit in Dhaka and admission tests.
Muhammad Abdul Malek, the khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, will preside over the rally.
Fazlul Karim said a declaration expressing solidarity with the Palestinians will be read out in Bangla, English and Arabic at the rally. The participants will take an oath to boycott products linked to Israeli interests. The programme will end with a prayer session.
