2 killed, 10 injured in road accidents
Two people were killed and at least 10 people injured in separate road accidents in Bogra and Chittagong on Wednesday and yesterday.
Our Bogra correspondent reports, a Naogaon-bound mini bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at CO bus stand on Bogra-Naogaon road in Dupchacia municipality area of Bogra on Wednesday evening, killing a man and injuring at least ten people.
The deceased was Yeasin Ali PK, 70, of Joypurpara village of the area.
Sources said the mini bus also hit some vehicles, including bus and human hauler, while it was fleeing, but finally came to a halt.
Angry mob blocked the road for an hour and torched the mini-bus.
When police rushed in, the mob clashed with them, injuring at least five, including Dupchacia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nur Islam.
All the injured were rushed to local health complex and Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
In Chittagong, Rahim Majhi, 50, of Lalmohon upazila in Bhola, died as a truck hit him from behind on Gate No-2 intersection in Sholoshahar area in Chittagong city yesterday early morning.
He died on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said the hospital outpost police.
