Gold hidden in gaming device seized at airport
Customs intelligence seized eight gold bars weighing 800 grams concealed in an electronic device at the Postal Freight Unit at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.
The gold bars were found in the battery chamber of a Sony play gaming device, which reached the Postal Freight Unit through a parcel by the Singapore Airlines flight SQ 446, said Moinul Khan, director general of Customs Intelligence.
One Dulal Miah, 35, from Kinta Road in Singapore sent the parcel for Md Abu Alam (Address-Redoy Electronics, 25, Baitul Mukkaram, Dhaka and mobile phone No. 01945692306), Khan said.
An investigation is on, he added.
