A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrant against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and senior leader Goyeshwar Chandra Roy in a case over demeaning Liberation War martyrs.

Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayeed passed the order after the plaintiff appealed to the court in this regard.

Earlier on July 1, Sub-Inspector Jafor Ali of the Shahbagh Police Station submitted the probe report in the case. The probe primarily found the accused to be guilty of the charge.

AB Siddique, president of Jananetri Parishad, filed the case against the two for their insulting remarks on the Liberation War martyrs on January 5, 2016.
