Ershad sacks Bobby Hajjaj
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad today sacked his special adviser Bobby Hajjaj after the latter announced his own candidacy for the Dhaka City Corporation polls.
“Bobby Hajjaj was appointed only to be a special adviser to HM Ershad. It is not a constitutional post of the Jatiya Party,” said a press release floated today signed by Sunil Shubho Roy, press and political secretary to the JP Chief.
The JP Chief has asked party men not to maintain any political relationship with Bobby Hajjaj, the statement read. “He will no longer have ties with Jatiya Party.”
Hajjaj went rebel announcing his candidature yesterday against party decision to back Bahauddin Ahmed Babul, general secretary of Jatiya Party, for Dhaka north.
Elections to Dhaka and Chittagong city corporations will be held on April 28.
