BNP to hold emergency meeting with 20-party alliance
BNP will hold an emergency meeting with its 20-party alliance leaders tonight to devise the next course of action.
The BNP-led 20-party alliance will hold the meeting at 6:00 pm at Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office, said Syrul Kabir Khan, an official of Khaleda’s press wing.
Party insiders said the party will give the reaction to the Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda’s election schedule announcement.
CEC is scheduled to address the nation in a televised speech at 7:00pm and unveil the schedule for the 11th national election.
Apart from the top leaders of the alliance member, several standing committee members of BNP will be present at the meeting.
“Very important decisions can be taken at the meeting,” a leader of the alliance said preferring to be unnamed.
There will be discussions on key issues like participation in the election, nomination of potential candidates and the possibilities and challenges of the electoral alliance with Jatiya Oikyafront.
