Professor Ashraful Islam passes away

Prof. Ashraful Islam, retired Vice-Principal of Tejgaon College, Dhaka, died yesterday afternoon due to cardiac failure. He was 77.

Professor Islam is the elder brother of North South University (NSU) VC Prof. Atiqul Islam.

During his illustrious career, Prof. Ashraf held several key leadership positions in reputed educational institutions, including the former Principal of Kumilla Victoria College and the former Principal of Brahmanbaria Government College.

A brilliant student, the late Prof. Ashraf obtained both Honours and Masters in Economics from the University of Dhaka.

He left behind his wife, three sons, and a daughter.

Namz-e-Janaza of Prof. Ashraf was held at Uttara Sector 13 Jame Mosque after the Johor prayer on March 11. He is to be buried at the Azimpur graveyard.

In a condolence message, NSU VC solicited salvation of the departed soul of late Professor Ashraf from his former students, colleagues, and well-wishers.
