Leading the World through Media

The country's largest media summit "NNO presents COMBINED MEDIA SUMMIT 2020" was held from July 25-26, 2020 to highlight the media and its importance at home and abroad with the slogan "Leading the world through Media".

A total of eight sessions were held; four sessions held on each day. The summit was inaugurated by renowned media personality and DBC news editor Pranab Saha.

Representatives of 15 newspapers, 6 television and 3 radio stations participated in the summit. There were also honorary teachers of journalism departments from different universities.

The closing ceremony was the highlight of the event. Samakal editor Mostafiz Shafi, Shomoy TV chief Tushar Abdullah, Channel I chief news editor Zahid Newaz Khan, The Daily Star executive editor Syed Ashfaqul Haque, Youth Carnival CEO Johnny Shahriar Alam and others were present.

The 4th Industrial Revolution and potential media challenges of the future were discussed at the media summit.

Mostafiz Shafi said, "Such an event can play a very important role in bringing the youth together. The various initiatives taken by the youth during the Covid-19 pandemic is giving us new hope," said Tushar Abdullah.

Everyone expressed their determination to work together with the youth of the country. They also say that the media can change this world, make the country stronger than ever before. The closing ceremony was presided over by Labby Ahshan, President of Newspaper Olympiad.

As speakers there were Shariful Hasan (Freelance Journalist, The Daily Star), Mohammad Tajdin Hassan (Head of Marketing, The Daily Star), Jabed Sultan Piyas (Head of Digital Business, Daily Prothom Alo), Excellence Bangladesh CEO Benazir Abrar and many more. About 20,000 spectators took part in the summit at different times and expressed their views as well as their opinions and interacted with the speakers by asking various questions.

BD Assistant was the partner in this event along with Ashoka, Ananya Magazine and Project Ishkul. Youth Carnival, Spike Story, The Daily Campus and Smartifier Academy were Youth Engagers for the event.
