Fizz bowls 23 dot balls on the trot
Bangladesh's star pacer Mustafizur Rahman bowls 23 dot balls on the trot during Tigers' match against Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe are struggling at 58 for four, scoring at less than three runs per over after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan bagged two wickets each. Mustafizur came in to bowl in the 14th over with the dangerous Sikandar Raza on strike. Sikander, who reached 2,000 ODI runs in this match had hit the last ball of Mashrafe's spell for six but struggled immensely against Fizz.
The left-armer angled several deliveries across the right-hander, beating him on several occasions before Raza decided to leave the last delivery of the over first over alone. Raza batted against Fizz for three overs on the trot and each time the result was a maiden over.
On Mustafizur's fourth over, batsman Peter Moor got the strike and Fizz bowled five more dot balls before Moor drove a full-length delivery outside off stump for a single. That took Mustafizur's dot ball streak to 23 as he conceeded just one run from his four overs.
England's James Anderson bowled five maidens in a row against Australia in 2003 but it is not known whether it is the longest dot ball streak in ODIs.
