‘More focused on ourselves’

Australia's left-arm spinner Ashton Agar says that the Australia team will be more focused on their own team than worry about the opponent's abilities when they face Bangladesh.

Hazzlewood was asked whether Asutralia considers Bangladesh a threat.

"It's not that we see it like that –Bangladesh being a threat. We are more focused on ourselves and on our skills and how we can beat them with our skill.

"We will try to analyse them – we do that properly in all our team meetings. However, we are more worried about ourselves and how we can control out there,' the spinner replied.

He also felt that spinners will dominate proceedings but reminded everyone that Australia's fast bowlers can also play a major role.

"Well I think that the wickets generally tend to be play that way here but our fast bowlers Josh Hazzlewood, Pat Cummins and Jackson Bird can bowl really well and if we get the ball reversing then they can play a big role too.

"It's going to be a big team effort – certainly spin will play a major role, I have no doubt."

Hazzlewood also said that he was hopeful of his chances of being in the team for the first Test.

"I am ready to go if I get the nod. I have been preparing well and done everything I can and I feel everything is in order," he added.
