Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan is known for juggling several commitments, often at the same time, and his latest endeavour saw him take a helicopter to Dhaka from Savar after he helped Mohammedan Sporting Club win their first match of the ongoing Dhaka Premier League 2023 against defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the BKSP-3 ground Saturday.

The ace all-rounder, who featured for Mohammedan for the first time in 12 years in the 50-over format of the tournament, scored a nine-ball five with the bat and went wicketless as he conceded 31 runs from his ten overs. Having done his part in the game, the 36-year-old left for Dhaka before the match came to a conclusion. It was learned that he used a helicopter to attend a commercial event.

Mohammedan managed to post a big total of 290 for seven in 50 overs. Skipper Imrul Kayes top-scored with 86 and the experienced Mahmudullah Riyad added 48 runs.

In reply, Sheikh Jamal were bundled out for 268 runs in 49.2 overs. Abu Jayed Chowdhury and Jake Lintott picked up three wickets each for Mohammedan.
