The recently retired Tamim Iqbal has announced his participation in the upcoming Legend 90 Cricket League, a newly introduced tournament for ex-international cricketers, where he is set to face off against his long-time Bangladesh teammate Shakib Al Hasan.

Tamim recently announced his participation in the tournament, which will take place in Raipur, India in February, where he will be playing for Big Boys Unikari.

Shakib, on the other hand, has reportedly signed on to play for Dubai Giants in the seven-team tournament.

Shakib and Tamim, two of the biggest stars in Bangladesh cricket history, had a public spat right before the 2023 ODI World Cup and have not been in speaking terms for years.

Tamim, after being inactive in international cricket for over a year, announced his retirement recently. Shakib, meanwhile, had previously stated that he would retire after the ICC Champions Trophy but the chances of him doing so are next to none after he was left out of the provisional 15-man Bangladesh squad for the event.

Shakib and Tamim last faced off in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) last year and the pair can now renew their rivalry in India next month.
