Iniesta feels it would be weird to see Neymar return to Barca
Barcelona’s legendary midfielder Andres Iniesta, who is on his way out of the Catalan club said that it would be weird to see Neymar return to Barcelona.
Neymar’s future as a PSG player has come under threat after the Paris club were ousted by Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League this year. Real Madrid have shown an express interest in the Brazilian in the last few months and their president and a couple of players have already suggested that the door to Real Madrid is open for Neymar.
French news outlet meanwhile reported that Neymar’s father had met with agent Pini Zahavi on April 24 -- an Israeli intermediary who brokered Neymar’s world-record transfer from Barcelona to PSG last summer.
“Neymar’s father has asked him [Zahavi] expressly to open the doors to Europe’s top clubs for his son," Liberation quoted one source as saying.
News agencies, particularly is Spain had also suggested that Neymar had wanted to return to Barca. Neymar has explained he made a mistake in leaving the club, was wrong to want independence from Lionel Messi and has been disappointed by the standard of opposition in Ligue 1.
He reportedly returned to Barcelona at least twice since the start of the season, twice being pictured on social media with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez and is even reported to have asked them how they would feel if he came back for good.
Iniesta, who is a club legend had struck a somewhat effective partnership with the Brazilian during the latter’s Barca stint. Iniesta believed that the dressing room will welcome the Brazilian.
“I don’t think there’d be any problems within the dressing room but for me, it would be a bit weird to see him back at Barca, he said
Regarding his own Barcelona future, the midfielder said: I’ve almost come to the end of my commitments with Barcelona and it’s true that I have various offers to think about and in the next week, 10 days, I’ll try and decide which one is the best for me.
