Real Madrid’s pursuit of Neymar is gathering pace and on Monday, a former Marca editor Eduardo Inda claimed that a deal with Madrid was ‘almost finalised’.

The deal would allegedly see Neymar move to the Spanish capital for a reported fee of 260-300 million Euros. A similar fee was quoted by Spanish outlet AS, who came up with a front cover on Wednesday which read “Neymar in talks with Real Madrid.”

On March 22, a Real Madrid delegate had apparently taken Vinicius Junior, another Real target, to the Brazilian’s mansion in Rio as he was recuperating from a broken metatarsal. Apparently, Real Madrid and their delegate wanted the meeting to remain a secret.

"God willing, Neymar and I will play together at Real Madrid," Vinicius had previously told the Guardian.

AS report said today that “there was more than one meeting between the Madrid delegate and Neymar during the month of March as the PSG striker returned to his homeland to recover from his ongoing injury.”

Meanwhile, a former Real midfielder, Paul Breitner is almost certain that Neymar is moving to Madrid.

"Neymar will be very important for Real Madrid next year," Breitner was quoted by Marca as having told Sport 1.

Amidst all these speculation, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has said that he does not want the focus to be the Brazilian’s transfer as his team prepares for the Champions League final against Liverpool.

AS also claimed that Neymar might have already played his last game in a PSG shirt.

“There is still much of the negotiation process to undergo but those close to the player have confided that if it were up to the player and Real Madrid, the Ligue 1 game against Marseille would have been Neymar's last in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt.”
