[Watch] Messi assists Vidal without a boot on his right foot

Messi provided the cherry on top of a big Barca victory ahead of Christmas by assisting Aleix Vidal while not wearing a boot on his right leg.

Lionel Messi proved to be the difference once again as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and Messi completed the rout by assisting Aleix Vidal in the dying minutes of the match.

The diminutive Argentine found space on the left side of the Real Madrid area before he charged at Marcelo and enticed him into a false tackle. The Brazilian was completely bamboozled by Messi’s movement and fell forward while Messi floated past him and into the area before toe poking a brilliantly placed pass on to the path of Vidal who slotted it home to complete the rout.

Messi had lost his boot while executing that incredible movement to skip past Marcelo but it only became apparent that the incredibly gifted playmaker had assisted without wearing a boot on his right foot when Barcelona were celebrating the goal.
