Mbappe’s story is just beginning
PSG forward Mbappe said the best is yet to come after his fantastic display helped PSG win 3-0 against European powerhouse Bayern Munich.
Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand was so pleased with Mbappe’s performance that he said it was "illegal" to be so good at such a tender age.
Mbappe may not have gotten on the scoresheet, but he was a key part of Paris Saint-Germain's efforts as they dispatched Bayern Munich 3-0 in the Champions League.
Mbappe was a different monster last night, the most glittering star on the pitch. He took on the Bayern defence and tore them up. Right, left or centre, it did not matter much to the young striker as he effused memories of the great Brazilian striker Ronaldo with his fantastic performance.
So good was Mbappe that teammate Neymar believes that the forward should be a Ballon D’or contender.
He took on the likes of David Alaba and there was no respite for the Bayern defence as time and time again he showed his pace and strength.
The French forward setup Edinson Cavani for PSG’s second goal with a brilliant pass with his left foot. His awareness to judge space and find his teammates were immaculate.
Then he took on the Bayern defence from the right hand side and bamboozled Alaba with a fake shot before rolling the ball further on into the box. The youngster then released a pass and the Bayern defence could not stop Neymar from reacting and the Brazilian scored. The goal came because of Mbappe’s brilliance and he outshone everyone else on the pitch. Safe to say that Mbappe's star is rising.
