Left-back Yeasin Arafat scored a 73rd-minute equaliser to help a 10-man Bangladesh bounce back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against India during their group stage SAFF Championship game at the National Stadium in Male today.

Bangladesh skipper Jamal Bhuiyan floated in a corner from the left side and Arafat, who was unmarked, slotted in a diving header after Rakib Hossain nudged the ball slightly with the top of his head.

Bangladesh were down to 10 men after defender Bishwanath Ghosh was sent off for a tackle on India forward Liston Colaco in the 53rd minute.

Earlier, skipper Sunil Chhetri broke the deadlock for India in the 26th minute of the match. Building up the attack from the right flank, Udanta Singh squared the ball in from the edge of the six-yard box for Chhetri, who was left unmarked by Bangladesh's defenders, to slash the ball in behind Anisur Rahman Zico.

The men in red and green created a number of opportunities but suffered in finishing the chances off.
