PSG teammates unhappy with Neymar’s privileges
PSG forward Neymar has had an incredible start to his Paris Saint-Germain career but his privileges are causing friction in the dressing room.
French media outlet Le Parisien report says that the special privileges that Neymar has received at PSG have not gone down well with his teammates.
It appears from the report that many of the internal rules – rules essential for squad management and unity, does not apply to the Brazilian star.
Neymar's 222m Euro move from FC Barcelona has only fuelled his value to the Paris club as a brand and the Brazilian has arrived with the ‘air of a star’.
Neymar has two personal physiotherapists at Paris and while it is not uncommon for players to have their own medical stuff, in Neymar’s case the two physiotherapists only cater to his needs.
Zlatan Ibrahimovich also used to have his own physiotherapist – Dario Fort, who acted as an additional physiotherapist for the squad.
Untouchable in Training
La Parisien further suggested that specific instructions have been passed on to the squad so that the Brazilian does not get injured in training. This means that the Brazilian will likely not be challenged with serious defensive tackles. While this would allow Neymar to be injury-free, the bonding that teammates achieve through training duels will likely suffer.
Neymar previously fought Barcelona’s Portuguese right back Nelson Semedo during Barcelona’s US tour this summer. Neymar took exception to a challenge by Semedo and had to be restrained by his teammates.
