Mamun Ur Rashid has been appointed as the head coach of the Bangladesh national hockey team for April's AHF Cup hockey tournament in Indonesia.
The decision was made today after Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) interviewed 10 coaches over the last two weeks.
The former national player had previously guided the national hockey team during the second round of the World Hockey League in Singapore in 2015. He has also worked with Bangladesh U-21 and U-23 teams several times.
Mamun told reporters that his target is to make Bangladesh champions in the AHF Cup, a tournament they have traditionally won.
Meanwhile, Moshiur Rahman Biplob has been appointed as the assistant coach, and Alamgir Islam has been made the trainer.
The preparation camp will get underway shortly after the players' fitness test on February 20, with more than 50 players taking part.
