Record that Mustafizur broke against India in Colombo

Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman might not be as mysterious as he was at the beginning of his career but the left-arm paceman managed to achieve a feat he can be happy about against India in Colombo yesterday.

Mustafizur became the fastest Bangladeshi to 150 ODI wickets when he scalped the wicket of Shardul Thakur during a crucial penultimate over. With that wicket, he reached the 150-wicket mark in ODIs in 91 matches, eclipsing the previous Bangladesh best by former left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak, who had reached 150 ODI wickets in his 108th game in 2004.

The record for the fastest 150 ODI wickets, however, remains to Australia's Mitchell Starc. The Aussie quick reached the feat in just 77 matches.

After claiming the landmark wicket, Mustafizur was hit for a boundary by Axar Patel but went on to dismiss the batter in the very next delivery when he mistimed another one of Mustafizur's cutters and was caught by a running fielder at long-off.

Mustafizur gave away just five runs and picked up two crucial wickets in the 49th over, all but ensuring the victory for the Tigers.

The left-arm pacer ended with match figures of three for 50 in eight overs and now has a total of 151 ODI wickets.
