Hasan doesn’t celebrate to not deepen batters’ woes

Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud said that he does not celebrate any of his wickets in order to not hurt the batter any more than he already did. 

The young pacer registered his maiden fifer in ODIs in Sylhet on Thursday to help Bangladesh bundle out Ireland for just 101 in 28.1 overs in the Tigers' maiden 10-wicket win in the format. 

In fact, this was the 23-year-old pacer's first five-for in competitive cricket as the pacer never registered a five-wicket haul in his first-class career. However, Hasan barely showed any emotion after any of his wickets. As a matter of fact, the pacer never really celebrates taking a wicket. 

When asked what was the reason behind his reluctance, Hasan had an interesting answer in store. 

"It's nothing special. It feels like if I celebrate after taking a batter's wicket, it will deepen his woes further," Hasan said. 

Hasan was the destroyer in chief against Ireland, dismantling the Irish batting line-up by accounting for three of their top-order batters before removing their top-scorer Curtis Campher and finally wrapping things up by trapping in front tailender Graham Hume. 

"This is my first-ever five-wicket haul. I have not registered a five-for in domestic cricket as well. All the pace bowlers [in the team] have worked hard in the past few days under the guidance of Allan Donald [Bangladesh's pace bowling coach]. Everyone has a good rapport. We are trying to improve on it," Hasan added.
