Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal was full of praise for his deserving colleagues after their monumental series win against South Africa through a nine-wicket victory in Centurion on Wednesday.

"I am a very proud man, especially with a Bangladeshi fast bowler getting a five-for, winning the series [for us] and winning the Player of the Series award," Tamim said during post-match.

"The coaches, even past coaches, have done a tremendous job. This is massive. The missing part was winning overseas, and we somehow did that this series," said a thoroughly content Tamim as he went on to credit Shakib Al Hasan for his selfless gesture which had prioritised team's interests.

"For Shakib to come and play here was massive. His daughters, his mother and his mother-in-law are in hospital. That shows his character," added the skipper, who scored a brilliant 87 during a successful run chase.

Tamim also did not forget to thank the bustling fans who came to support the Tigers throughout the series.

"This feels like mini-Dhaka, to be honest. The fans have been brilliant. As Russell [Domingo], our head coach, says, they are our 12th man. They are always there," the skipper concluded.
